Patan Durbar Square, Located in Lalitpur district of Kathmandu valley, Patan Durbar Square is another world heritage in Kathmandu valley, also enlisted in the UNESCO’s world heritage in the year 1979. Patan Durbar Square is an open museum to witness the arts and crafts of the people of Patan exhibited in their works of metal in statues, temples, gates and palaces, an unprecedented work of pure genius and beauty. The lord Krishna temple within the square is one of the most beautiful temples in all over Asia. The golden temple is an abode of masterpiece of Bihar architect while Maha Budhha temple, also known as the temple of 1000 buddhas is the living proof of the excellence of craftsmanship of Nepalese in the Shikhara style while the pinnacle atop the temple exhibits the craftsmanship of the people of patan in the metalwork. It was also hit by the devastating earthquake of 2015, however,the square is open for visits and quite safe to do so.
