Langtang Region is the most proximate trekking destinations located only 130 km north east of Kathmandu in the Rasuwa district of Nepal, bordering Tibet, wearing snow capped mountains like Langtang Lirung (7,245 m) on the north, the highest of the region, Yala Peak (5,520 m) with Jugal Himal and Dorje Lhakpa (6,989 m), Ganja la pass (5,122 m) to the south making it a handsome and adventurous trek at the same time. Lang tang region holds the inexplicable beauty of Tibetan highlands, snow-clad mountains, majestic lakes such as Gosainkunda (4,380 m), Parvatikunda and Dudhkunda. The scenic beauty of the region is just one side of the coin because the Tamang Heritage Trail, which is an inseparable part of the region providing an opportunity to explore and get insight into the very old Tamang culture, lifestyle, livelihood, craftsmanship, costumes and their uniquely built stone houses.

Legend says that during Samundra Manthan, Lord Shiva after drinking the poison that came from the Shamundra Manthan went into insufferable pain, so he went to the Himalayas and put his Trishul, the sacred trident into the womb of himalayas and out came from the deepest keeps of Himalayas the cold and soothing water, with which he not only clenched his thirst but also overcame the unbearable pain of the poison. Since Gosainkunda holds such religious importance,we have introduced it as a part of our religious trek.It extends to an area of 4 square miles and as a part of its tribunal, sips down to the Trishuli river when it melts in the spring. The lake is flooded with pilgrims during Janai Purnima in August/September and during Dashahara in March/April. The Gosainkunda Religious Trek can be accessed through two different routes; one via Dhunche or Shyabru Beshi and from Sundarijal.
