Langtang Region is the most proximate trekking destinations located only 130 km north east of Kathmandu in the Rasuwa district of Nepal, bordering Tibet, wearing snow capped mountains like Langtang Lirung (7,245 m) on the north, the highest of the region, Yala Peak (5,520 m) with Jugal Himal and Dorje Lhakpa (6,989 m), Ganja la pass (5,122 m) to the south making it a handsome and adventurous trek at the same time. Lang tang region holds the inexplicable beauty of Tibetan highlands, snow-clad mountains, majestic lakes such as Gosainkunda (4,380 m), Parvatikunda and Dudhkunda.The scenic beauty of the region is just one side of the coin because the Tamang Heritage Trail, which is an inseparable part of the region providing an opportunity to explore and get insight into the very old Tamang culture, lifestyle, livelihood, craftsmanship, costumes and their uniquely built stone houses.
